Nearly-done family room

Written by julio on October 2nd, 2008

This was the status as of last night.  All the trim is finished, stained and polyurethaned.  We picked up our couch yesterday, and I am nearly done with the TV wiring.  A trip this weekend will keep me away from it until next week, but we could be watching movies in here within about a week!  And we are just two doors away from being 100% finished with this room.  I had to use a really wide angle lens to get the shots, so don’t be fooled into thinking the room is bigger than it is.  It’s only about 11×12′ in reality.

Very nice! I’m itching to get my basement cleared out so I can start on the family room too. Living on 1-1/2 floors is getting kinda cramped!

Beautiful! I love the trim. That will be a nice room to relax and watch movies in.

    Hi Gang!
Family room looks good! I like the blog overhaul too. Very sleek and inviting.
It is Thanksgiving weekend in Canada and we will cook our turkey at Keats View along with Cottager’s brother and wife. Weather is meant to be good too. Is your weekend trip taking you in a Northerly direction?

I really like the head casings – nice proportion.

    Hi all –

Thanks for the kudos. The room is a long way from done, but it’s useable, which is a definite improvement!

We just got back from 10 days in Boston so there’s been no recent progress, but as soon as there is, we’ll post more photos.

Hope you and your family had a lovely Thanksgiving, Lisa. I’m not sure when we’ll be heading north again, but I hope it’s soon. A few weeks ago I was actually considering applying for a job in Nanaimo….

Awww – thanks! We’re so glad you enjoy it. I’ve been enjoying reading your blog as well, and like you, I love that green Aura paint from Benjamin Moore!
