Back in the saddle
Written by julio on May 2nd, 2009I looked back and realized it’s been six months since we’ve posted (or done) any actual renovation updates. Today, that’s changing. I started sanding the old, worn stain off the family room doors, so that we can match them to the new trim stain. It’s not much fun. If anyone knows of any power sanders that can actually do a good job in the crevices of these doors, let me know! I spent almost three hours working on a single door, and I’m still not done. Yuck.

I think you may want to look for a profile sander. A friend of ours has a Porter Cable 9444VS. It has different molded pieces to fit rounded trim and other detail work. It does not look like it is still part of Porter Cable’s line up, but you can still find them around. Best of luck, my wife and I truly enjoy your site. We bought a 1920 craftsman bungalow with enough project to keep up busy for a life time!
