After the big week

Written by julio on September 6th, 2009

After another full week, things are looking much, much better.  The front is almost completely done, as is the west side.  We finally picked the accent color, and the front dormer is the first area to have all the colors together in one place.  I stripped down the peeling paint around the front door and even started the door itself.  Ultimately, we plan on staining the door and sidelights.

It’s kind of wild how all the bungalows in your area look so imposing since they’re so far above street level. Our houses seem to all be low-slung with the sills so close to the ground. It really makes them look quite different. Your paint job looks outstanding! And – I’ve been stripping paint off a door all weekend, so I feel your pain!

    Sarah,

It does make for a dramatic effect. We’ve noticed that our flat-grounded house’s siblings look much less imposing and with less drama.
